One Response to Poll: Which aspect should more Autism funding be directed toward?

  1. Families with children like mine – with classic or profound autism, without insurance coverage or family support, are under increasing stress. Our children have aged out of the early intervention programs & few if any programs are available fo children that do not fit the description of high functioning autism or Asperger’s Syndrome. Yet we see something in our kids that few will acknowledge, so we are forced to struggle alone. I will never give up on my son. It would be great if a larger portion of research money was spent on direct service for older children that have autism now. The cause & cure are worthy but do nothing for my son today.
